What will it take for you to accept this job?.
When to ask
- before you try to sell her on the job.
- on all job application forms
- as an ice-breaker in any interview or screening session
Get her to rank the criteria. Then:
- Knock out people with impossible expectations
- Point out the matches between the preferences and the job.
- Get the hiring manager to change the job to suit the candidate, if appropriate.
- Compile a list of candidate requirements
Indirect Questions
- Does anything frustrate you in your current job?
- How could your company improve your current job?
- Ask questions about specific elements of her job, then ask for her evaluation of them
- Ask for opinions on general topics and then see how they figure in her current job.
If a candidate can't identify her decision criteria she's either not sharp or not interested.
