Epithet Pronounced Dead
8:45am this morning! + Workfarce, JayDee, Animal, Ami, Maureen, Karen and the Usual suspects
At 8:45am this morning Epithet was pronounced dead in a bathtub with a ham sandwich logged in his throat. Cause of death is still to be confirmed by authorities but a note held tightly in her hand reads as follows:
For what I am about to say please forgive me !
I know some of you (those limited few that actually read what Epithet wrote), recently witnessed the internal demons Epithet had around being an active blogger with posts like; If a blog fell in a forest II {Redux}who would give a S#%* and If A Blog Fell In A Forest...Would anyone hear it fall?
This morning after a lengthy argument with Epithet that started over the Malcolm S. Forbes quote
"The biggest mistake people make in life is not making a living at doing what they most enjoy".
I decided I could not take it anymore and reached for the nearest keyboard (no Maureen, it is not silent), where I proceeded to repeatedly hit Epithet upside the head 2337 times, which at that point, Epithet backed away but slipped on a ham sandwich and fell backwards into the bathtub. The sandwich strangley ricochet of the ceiling and became lodged in her throat. 23 Minutes and 37 seconds later the last Epithet was spoken.
Why did I do it? What drove me to this cruel (some would argue kind) act?
Last night after reading a few more blogs posts on RecruitingBloggers.com I noticed that only a small consistent group of individuals or the Usual Suspects (Richard Becker, Recruiting Animal , Amati Givertz’s , Colin Kingsbury , Jason Davis, Workfarce, Karen M and Maureen Sharib ) continue to write or cross comment on each others posts all the time. I realized that I did not want Epithet to lead a blogging existence where the value of the post was really only to entertain or get a rise out of a handful of the same old same old readers and contributors. I needed to put him out of his pitiful existence once and for all.
Please forgive me,
Epithet's Killer
I called the Animal straight after my dirty deed and confessed my sins. I said there are enough blogging train wrecks in the world today and I felt life without Epithet is just one less train wreck recruiting needs at this moment in time.
In closing, I do have to thank Epithet as she gave me the inspiration for creating Recruiting 2337 (which satisfied my creative side) as I felt the industry needed a little infusion of fun as I personally think at times we all take this a little too seriously.
"The biggest mistake people make in life is not making a living at doing what they most enjoy"

We did have chat today -- our first ever and The Epithet sounded like a very interesting person before the demise. But I wonder about the maxim: Do what you enjoy. You know the saying: follow your bliss, money will follow. I wonder if anyone has ever tested that thesis to see if it is true. Adios Amigo.

Aw Gee, You resurrected what I thought was a dead website.. (actual website is www.acssearch.com) yikes, where did you find that - guess it was only fitting with the Passing of Epithet..
Gotta ask, how does a zombie die via a sandwich.. but I gotta ask what is the significance of 2337??? Curious minds really want to know..

RIP Epithet. Though I might point out that this blog has more readers than meets the eye, Killer of Epithet.

I can't make head or tail of this. Is Epithet a man or a woman? Is it alive or dead. Does it blog or does it not.
I feel like I've been duped.

Animal wonders about the maxim conveying the message to “do what you enjoy”. He says, “You know the saying: follow your bliss, money will follow. I wonder if anyone has ever tested that thesis to see if it is true.”
It’s a fascinating subject, one upon which much rich literature exists in the tradition.
One of the first quotes you will come across when and if you subscribe to the online telephone names sourcing training series “The Magic in the Method” is this:
“The road to happiness lies in two simple principles: find what it is that interests you and that you can do well, and when you find it, put your whole soul into it - every bit of energy and ambition and natural ability you have.” ~ John D. Rockefeller III
I believe firmly in the maxim and I have written in length about it over the last few years – I beg, I beseech, I plead with those who do not really believe that what they’re doing when they “names source” people out of companies is the right thing to do, not to do it! I believe that if we can find what it is that interests us and throw ourselves into it our days and nights will be infused with a glowing spirit that will lead us to happiness.
It’s simple but true. If you are not wholly invested in something with your whole heart, mind and body, you’re not truly invested. You’re not a true believer. You’re a dabbler; I don’t know what else to call it. You’re a participant, sure, but are you, as Ami just pointed out in his radio interview with Animal, a Voice that others listen to? Someone who leads others in a purposeful direction? A leader by default – one who can be nothing else but?
I propose that you are not. I propose that you are initiated but not illuminated and it is the illumination that lights the way. Not just for others, but also for yourself.
"The greedy search for money or success will almost always lead men into unhappiness. Why? Because that kind of life makes them depend upon things outside themselves." ~ Andre Maurois
But the question was does money come from following your bliss? I suggest it does.

Maureen, without exception, I echo everyone of your points.
