History
RecruitingBloggers.com -- started as a group blog for recruiters - October 2006.
Original bloggers -- Maureen Sharib, Shannon Seery and Julian Gude, David Perry, Colin Kingsbury, Glenn Gutmacher, Tiffany Baxter, Amitai Givertz and the Recruiting Animal.
Second Wave -- Richard Becker (aka Mr Moustache) and Lance Haun, the HR Guy.
Others who have posted -- Moises Lopez, Amybeth Hale, Karen P Katz, Shally Elvis Steckerl and Jimmy Stroud.
But Recruiting Animal = lazy good fer nuthin' dawg -- let the site go dormant early in 2009. Now, in August 2009, with help of the rabble he associates with on Twitter he's ready to relaunch.
New membership -- recruiters, career coaches, resume writers -- any hustlers who think they might have fun & promote brand at the same time.
I'd like to say that we're bringing sexy back to recruiter blogging but it never was sexy. And since membership is open to everyone there's no guaranteeing what you're going to get.
To be part of this crowd, read on
Here's the deal.
1. You post on your own blog that nobody reads.
2. Then you repost the same article here.
3. Because this site offers more than just you, people visit
4. You provide a link back to your own blog on every posting. If you don't have a blog set one up on Posterous. It's incredibly easy (but I'll help you if you need it). And listen to this: Anything you can easily set up your posterous.com site so anything you post there is automatically posted here.
5. No strings attached. You don't have to post regularly. If you post once you don't have to post again.
6. Here's another way to use this site: Instead of cross posting fairly current postings, reuse oldies but goodies.
7. This site has been around since Oct 2006. There are tons of articles on it so it is, presumably, well-indexed by the Google.
Does that mean it gets a high ranking? My only proof that it does is that last week a pal called to ask me to delete a posting about him. He has a strong online presence but a recruitingbloggers article kept coming up in the # 2 spot whenever anyone Googled his name..
8. A Virtual Social Networking Site
At this point in its history, RecruitingBloggers has the potential to become a Virtual Social Network. Think about it:
a. Articles can be posted and read here.
b. You can leave comments on postings here.
c. You have easy access to Authors' "chatter walls" via their Twitter pages
d. And via the Twitter bios you have a ready link
to the authors' longer bios and full contact info.
e. RB is offering similar links to Friends of the Site.
f. We have a pictures & videos page.
&nbps; Anyone can send in pics by emailing them in.
g. We have a Chat Box that can be exported to any number of blogs.
Is anything missing?
9. Preferred Postings
Anything about recruiting or career.
10. Preferred Style
The style of writing is strictly up to you. But... why not leave out the chit-chat and get right to the point?
If your article is long, no one is going to read it. If it's short, they might.
Look, here's a suggestion. Look at your original. Take out the key idea. Post that here and link back to your own blog for the details.
That way the readers here don't have to work hard and the guys who think you're a genius will click through for more. Kapeesh? It's like Twitter Plus - and it's a great idea. So why not try it.
